Push the power button for 3 seconds. When you see the blue light and hear the fan running, you’re good to go.
Your Cube comes with a wall charger and a micro USB charging cable. Use the micro USB cable to connect the Cube to the charger, plug the charger into the wall, and turn the Cube off. The light next to the power button will turn red when the Cube is charging.
It takes about 90 minutes for the Cube’s 90-minute battery to fully charge. The light will turn green when it’s ready to go. (Pro tip: You can use the Cube without charging it too, as long as it’s connected to a power source.)
For best performance, always charge the Cube with its included wall charger and micro USB cable. Because they are friends and will be sad otherwise.
Your Cube works with HDMI-compatible devices using MHL video output. Use the included HDMI-to-MHL cable to connect the Cube to any HDMI-compatible device.
Many devices require HDMI or MHL adapters, pre-Cubing. If the device you want to use doesn’t have an HDMI port, check out our connectivity guide to see which adapter is right for you.
It’s super easy to use your Cube with a micro SD memory card: Insert the card into the slot labeled “Micro SD,” and use the included remote control to find and select whatever you want to project. (The Cube can be used with micro SD cards up to 32GB.)
The 5 pin cable can be used to connect the Cube with any Android device that has MHL video output. The 11 pin cable can be used to connect the Cube with any Samsung device that has MHL video output.
There’s a lot of variability with MHL video output for Android and Samsung devices, depending on brand and model. If you try connecting the Cube to your Android or Samsung device and the cable fits, but you get a No Signal screen, it’s possible that your Android or Samsung device does not have MHL video output. Check out our device connectivity guide for adapter options and workarounds.
Your Cube comes a flexible mini tripod stand and a special silver Cube tripod holder. This is super handy for positioning the Cube for projection. Here’s how to set it up:
Each Cube comes with a card containing a mysterious scratch off code. Redeem yours here for a fun surprise!

If your MacBook doesn’t have the HDMI Out option, you will need to purchase this adapter. Once you have this adapter, connect to the cube using the provided mini HDMI (cube side) to HDMI (adapter side)
The following have an HDMI ports: Mac Pro’s (late 2013 + newer), Mac Pro w/Retina (mid-2012 + newer), Mac Mini (Mid 2010 + newer).
If you have a newer MacBook with USB C you would need this adapter.
Here a few helpful tips.
Always use the provided 11 pin cable. Some of the larger Samsung models require additional power. The 11 pin cable has a female connector that allows you to plug in external power from a charger to support video projection
Galaxy S4
The S4 requires a micro usb to hdmi adapter to connect with the Cube. You can purchase that adapter here.
Galaxy S6 and Note 5
Samsung removed video out capabilities from these devices so they will not out HDMI or MHL signals. These are one of the few devices that are incompatible but can be worked around using a Samsung All-Share Cast Hub.
If you have a newer Samsung device or one that doesn’t output through MHL you can project to the Cube using a Chromecast and an HDMI to Mini HDMI adapter: http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Plated-Female-Adapter/dp/B004PW1XRS
While the Kindle Fire does not have the appropriate port, you will be able to connect it to the Cube using this adapter.
The Roku, Chromecast and Amazon Fire Stick have an HDMI connection while the Cube has a more compact form of it called a Mini HDMI. You will need an adapter similar to the one here.
LG Devices uses a proprietary slimport for it’s output. In order to connect to Cube you will need a MyDP / Micro-USB to HDMI Adapter. One can be purchased here.

Turn the Cube off, and hit the Reset button (you’ll see a tiny button labeled “Reset” next to the charge port — use the tip of a paper clip or pin to press it). Turn the Cube back on after you Reset, and connect it to a media device or micro SD card.
If there’s still no picture after you’ve tried resetting, there might be a problem with your bulb. Email us and we’ll walk you through what to do next (and don’t worry — we’ll get it fixed or replaced ASAP so you can get back to Cubing).
The version of the Cube currently being sold is the most up-to-date model. We are always brainstorming ways to improve and taking notes from our customers (don’t forget to leave your feedback here), but we do not yet have another model in the works.
We hate blue screens of death. Have you tried using the Cube with a different device that uses a different cable (ie. Use a 5 pin cable instead of HDMI)? Try pushing the reset button as well. If after all that, nothing still works, contact us for more help.
No, but you can turn it off with the remote!
We provided the most commonly used cables in the box. If your device uses a different port, first check the Connecting Your Devices section to make sure your device is compatible, and then purchase the cable/adapter as needed.
90 minutes, but you can use an external power source to keep the Cube running much longer!
When you power on your Cube, the main menu will have a battery display on the top right corner.
The Cube cannot charge the battery as it’s running, but you can use it for indefinite periods as long as your external battery pack or power outlet has power!
Use the Micro USB cable provided to charge your Cube.
You cannot stream Bluetooth from the Cube to a Bluetooth speaker, but for most devices, you are able to output the audio to Bluetooth device.
No.
Yes, you can! You’ll need an HDMI to MHL adapter. You can then plug in your streaming device into the adapter and then into the MHL port of the Cube and you’re all set to go!
Check out the Cube product manual for more information, and email us if you can’t find what you’re looking for — we’re always happy to help.
We are actively working on a design for silicon rubber protective and decorative cases so you can personalize your Cube. We expect them to be ready in 2016.
No, we do not anticipate a firmware update coming in the near future. When one does become available, we will note it online and send a notification email.
